Our Form I-864 Affidavit of Support enforcement cases in North Carolina.

Jubber vs. Jubber, No. 1:19-cv-00717 (District of Maryland 2019)

In this significant case, we obtained the first-ever preliminary injunction order in favor of an Affidavit of Support plaintiff. A preliminary injunction [https://www.soundimmigration.com/can-you-enforce-the-form-i-864-affidavit-of-support-with-a-preliminary-injunction/]  is an extraordinary form of discretionary relief that is available when a plaintiff shows that he is being irreparably harmed by illegal conduct. The federal district court for the District of Maryland agreed that our Form I-864 client was being irreparably harmed because his sponsor refused to comply with the Affidavit of Support. Shortly after obtaining our injunction order, we were able to negotiate a favorable resolution of the case with the help of a federal magistrate judge.

Pretorious vs. Platts, No. 1:20-cv-02084 (District of Maryland 2020).

We represented this South African Affidavit of Support plaintiff in a lawsuit against her U.S. citizen sponsor. We worked with his defense team to reach an amicable settlement resolution early in the case process, speedily resolving the matter for our client.
