I was born and raised in Taiwan. I moved to the United States with my family in 2002 and began attending college at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. I graduated with honors obtaining a bachelor’s degree in marketing. I then went to Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Michigan, where I received my Juris Doctor degree with honors. While in law school I married my college sweetheart, Jonathan Baner, whom I have been practicing law with since 2011.
My very own personal experience with the rigid, challenging immigration system is the reason why I got into practicing immigration law and what sets me apart from the mainstream legal profession. Being able to help one family after another to pursue their American dream has been a passion of mine. I have devoted my immigration law practice exclusively to family-based permanent resident and naturalization cases.
In addition to immigration law, I also practice litigation-based family law, representing clients in proceedings involving divorces, legal separations, relocations, custody (to include nonparental custody), child support, and adoptions. Being a parent has evolved my legal acumen as a compassionate and aggressive family law advocate.
I am multilingual. I speak Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese fluently. I am passionate about music. I play the piano and sing. I also design wedding stationary that has been featured on Four Weddings (a TLC television show).
Outside our law practice, my husband and I are busy parents with three children. We are very much into fitness and travel.
