Miranda Baner is a modern renaissance woman. She is trilingual. She fluently speaks Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese and English. She has an incredible talent for music. She plays the piano, is a competitive singer, and is very much into fitness. She also designs wedding stationary that has been featured on Four Weddings (a TLC television show).
Miranda Baner focuses her practice primarily on family law and family-based immigration. She excels in representing clients in contentious custody and asset disputes. Miranda Baner represents clients in divorce/legal separation proceedings, parenting plan cases, third-party custody petitions, termination of parental rights/adoption cases, and relocation matters by working to resolve the issues where possible and taking to trial those issues that cannot be resolved without trial. Miranda Baner also works with immigrants and businesses to ensure that immigrants are able to live and work in the United States while pursuing their American dream.
Miranda Baner and Jonathan Baner run their litigation-driven law firm, Baner & Baner Law Firm together in Tacoma. They enjoy practicing law and working together.
Outside their law practice, Miranda Baner and Jonathan Baner are busy parents with three children and a dog named after a Star Trek character, one of their all-time favorite TV series and movies.
Jonathan Baner focuses his practice on appeals, civil litigation, evictions, and collection law.
In his appellate practice with an emphasis on civil appeals, Jonathan Baner has appeared before the Washington Supreme Court and the lower appellate courts, representing clients in both civil (to include family law appeals) and criminal appeals.
Jonathan Baner’s civil litigation focuses on small to medium sized businesses with an emphasis on litigation. He represents businesses in meeting their regulatory and litigation needs including resolving disputes between co-owners of businesses.
In his eviction practice, Jonathan Baner primarily represents landlords in their attempt to recover possession of property from tenants. He enjoys working with property managers to ensure best practices can be implemented.
In his collection work, Jonathan Baner represents creditors that are individuals, businesses, and collection companies. The bulk of his practice involves discovering and garnishing or repossessing assets of debtors.
Jonathan Baner was born and raised in St. Louis before attending college at Missouri State (Springfield, MO). There he attained two bachelor’s degrees (and multiple minors) in Sociology and Criminology with the intention of going to law school. He graduated with honors from Michigan State University College of Law. While in law school he married his wife and law partner, Miranda Baner.
Jonathan Baner is in Tacoma by choice. He and his wife knew that they wanted to live in Tacoma, where there is year-round motorcycling and every outdoor adventure is within driving distance. His two favorite joys are riding his BMW motorcycle and doing the bidding of his young children.
